OPERATIONAL CAPABILITYFulfil demand through controlled warehouse work

How does EWM outbound execution work?

Outbound execution converts demand into scheduled work, removes suitable stock, proves packing and loading, and completes the inventory issue without losing the customer promise.

ONE DOCUMENT TRAIL

One customer delivery, from demand to goods issue

Read one fulfilment event across the documents and physical objects. A delivery can have many items; one item can be picked from multiple bins or HUs and therefore create several tasks.

  1. 01
BUSINESS REFERENCESales order and outbound-delivery reference

The customer, products, requested or confirmed dates, quantities, route, and ship-to context establish the fulfilment promise.

  2. 02
EWM DEMANDOutbound warehouse request and item

The warehouse-relevant delivery demand carries the product, required quantity, priority, dates, and references used for release and execution.

  3. 03
    WORK RELEASEWave or direct release

A wave can group eligible demand around cut-offs, routes, work areas, or capacity. Direct release is another possible path.

  4. 04
EXECUTIONPick warehouse tasks and warehouse order

Stock-removal rules select suitable quants and source bins or HUs. One delivery item can create multiple tasks; warehouse-order creation packages work for execution.

  5. 05
PACK, STAGE, LOADPick-HU / shipping HU, staging bin, door, and loading evidence

The picked products are consolidated and moved through the physical shipping steps. Each configured movement can have its own task and confirmation.

  6. 06
INTEGRATED RESULTGoods issue and delivery / inventory status

Posting goods issue completes the applicable inventory issue and updates the connected delivery and accounting evidence where relevant.

  1. 01

    Create warehouse demand

A delivery or other issue requirement becomes relevant to EWM with product, quantity, date, priority, and partner context.

    Evidence Outbound warehouse request

  2. 02

    Plan and release work

Waves or direct release group demand around cut-offs, route, priority, work area, or capacity.

Evidence Released items and created tasks

  3. 03

    Pick suitable stock

Removal rules determine stock and source bin; warehouse-order creation packages executable work.

Evidence Pick task, warehouse order, and confirmation

  4. 04

    Pack, stage, and load

Consolidate the correct products into handling units, stage them at the right door, and prove loading.

Evidence HU, staging, and loading status

  5. 05

    Post goods issue

Complete the applicable issue event and propagate status to delivery, inventory, and accounting.

Evidence Goods issue and integrated document status

Short pick

Capture the actual quantity and approved exception so replenishment, backorder, or delivery decisions can follow.

Wrong stock or batch

Stop before confirmation when the physical identity does not match the task; correct the source evidence.

Wave at risk

Prioritize by promised cut-off and downstream loading constraint, not only by task age.

Packed but not loaded

Use HU, staging, door, and loading status to locate the last trustworthy physical point.

Supervisor check

A delivery is not ready because all picks are confirmed. Verify packing, staging, loading, exceptions, and goods-issue readiness against the carrier cut-off.
